Aircode, a subsidiary of Sejong Telecom, supplies cloud solutions to overseas Internet TV (IPTV) operators.

According to Grand View Research on the 31st, the global IPTV market is expected to reach 67.6 billion dollars (about 78.8419 trillion won) by 2027. It is expected to grow at an annual average of 7.1%.

Sejong Telecom has recently started to find new businesses and lay the foundation for overseas expansion, noting that rapidly growing video-on-demand (VOD), IPTV, and online video services (OTT) and foreign companies are highly interested in Korean TV content. Aircode is a broadcasting media solution company established in 1999. It was acquired by Sejong Telecom in March and incorporated into a subsidiary.

Middle East and African countries have a relatively long time to watch TV at home due to the hot climate and insufficient leisure infrastructure. Aircode plans to gradually carry out its business in these countries.

Recently, AirCode established a "cloud UI solution" for the operation of cloud-based user interface (UI) application virtualization services for Etisalat, an UAE IPTV service provider, through business cooperation with Gaon Media, an artificial intelligence (AI) total solution company.

The cloud UI virtualization solution converts the method of processing and expressing the TV service UI in the existing set-top box into the cloud to perform the UI application calculation processing procedure required by the subscriber terminal on the operator's central cloud server.

It is a state-of-the-art service method that delivers TV UI menus and images, which are computational processing results, to the final subscriber terminal. It maximizes service efficiency for IPTV subscribers by extending the set-top box usage period and making it easy to update user application functions.

Etisalat, the largest broadcasting and communication service provider in the Middle East and Africa with 150 million subscribers, introduced cloud UI solutions from Gaon Media and AirCode to provide users with consistent user experiences with the latest IPTV service features, models, and years.

By expanding cloud services in the future, it plans to reduce terminal investment costs and improve customer service experiences for all subscribers.

Based on the successful reference of the Etisalat project, we will expand overseas businesses of broadcasting media technology, including cloud UI solutions, to global media service providers in the Middle East and Europe, said Jeong Yeon-chul, CEO of Aircode.
